Drought is increasingly becoming a national disaster since so many parts of the country have been affected. Taita Taveta has been listed among the top affected counties not only in the coast region but also in Kenya.
This is due to improper lumbering without replacing the cut trees.
It is for this reason that Artists of various genres in Taita Taveta, led by a top Comedian and Gospel Musician, Dokta Dambel through his Entertainment company Label, KIFADO FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT in conjuction with Kichy Entertainment and O.B.O have marshalled their fellow artists like L.O.T among others to sensitize the community on importance of conserving the environment. The Idea founded by Dokta Dambel, will roll out for months through relevant departments and leaders in the community to help in planting trees in all the 20 wards of Taita Taveta County.
The first phase will be through an event, the first of its kind, by local artists, which will be held on 7th April from 6pm till dawn at Taita Academy – Mwatate Subcounty.
Some of the sponsors are Kifado Family Ent. O. B. O, Kichy Ent. Taita Academy, the media – Rogim Ltd and many more to be mentioned at the event.
Chief guest will be Taita Taveta county Deputy Governor Majala Mlaghui, CECM for Environment Hon. Clarice Njoli, CECM for Youth Affairs, Culture and Sports Hon. Bigavai Mwailemi among others.
It will be a night of fun and learning. You ought not to miss this. Come with all your family members.
